Birkbeck is offering five studentships for PhD students starting their studies in Autumn 2020. These scholarships actively address under-representation at the highest level of research, and encourage BAME students to consider academic research in all disciplines. Successful candidates will have a strong academic background and/or exceptional research potential.

Lecturer A in Computer Science

We particularly seeking applicants who would make a major contribution to one of our research groups. In particular, we are interested in applicants with expertise in Data Analytics/Data Science, who will also contribute to one or more of the interdisciplinary research themes of the Birkbeck Institute for Data Analytics or the Birkbeck Knowledge Lab. PhD Funding by Neo4j in Advanced Database Technologies

We are pleased to announce the availability of a PhD studentship in the area of Advanced Database Technologies funded by Neo4j, starting in October 2019. Graduate Teaching Assistant

One part-time post fixed-term post for three years.

Supporting one or more of the Department’s programmes you will be responsible for teaching assessment marking laboratory assistance project supervision assistance and teaching-related administration. You will also be studying for a full-time PhD.

The post holder will need to be registered as a research student within the Department for the period of employment and the Home/EU registration fees will be waived.

(Note that a separate application must be made to the MPhil/PhD programme in order to satisfy this condition – see Pursuing a Research Degree).

You should have a degree or equivalent in Computer Science and have an interest in degree-level teaching perhaps with a view to an academic career.
